Entrepreneurship has been full of interesting projects, new acquaintances, many challenges and, above all, a huge amount of learning. I became an entrepreneur around the same time as I made the move with my son to Barcelona. It has taught me a huge amount about organisation, patience, resilience and self-belief.
Just over a year of experience as an entrepreneur has been an incredible learning journey that has included many challenges but above all great achievements that I once only dreamed of.
During the year I have managed to develop my DEI skills and services so that I have been able to deliver my first DEI online training, I have been able to successfully implement the DEI survey I developed over a long period of work for a client company, I have held sparring/meetings with both small and large companies and I have learnt about how DEI issues appear differently in different companies.
I also managed to get billable projects in areas such as customer service and sales, which have contributed to valuable work experience in different industries and different types of companies. I have also built my own website and done my own accounting, sales and marketing.
In this section, I will talk about the projects I have worked on and the valuable knowledge I have gained from them.

New areas..
The next project was a business modelling project for a private entrepreneur. I helped the entrepreneur to develop two new business ideas into clear and functional business models. The necessary information was gathered through interviews and discussions. I used the information to build business models for both business ideas and made powerpoint presentations.

The story begins..
My first client to be billed was a growth-stage technology company for whom I provided customer service. The work involved multi-channel customer service, solving a variety of challenging situations, communicating effectively with different parties and using different systems effectively.

Having fun..
I did two separate projects for a nice small company that sells and designs special products. In the first project, we collaborated to produce an awesome Christmas calendar for the company's instagram. I acted as the project coordinator. The end result was awesome and increased sales, followers and customer engagement. The project also gave the entrepreneur more spark to develop and take forward her business. In the second project, I did B2B sales. I contacted potential buyers by email. Sales were increased thanks to this work.

Becoming a DEI professional..
I have been able to build up my DEI skills extensively in cooperation with my partner organisation Gantsi Consulting Oy. The cooperation started last autumn and has been enormously rewarding, instructive and interesting. I have translated extensive DEI-related materials from Finnish into Swedish. I held an online DEI training course on behalf of Gantsi. I also wrote a guest blog post on the Gants website, summarizing my lessons learned from my master's thesis on DEI consulting and its challenges in Finland. Our collaboration is still ongoing.

DEI-survey Lyyti Ltd
During June and August I conducted the first Maiwin Solutions DEI survey and I couldn't be happier with the feedback I received from the customer.
The DEI survey that was carried out went according to plan and the content was appropriate for the company. The results confirmed previous perceptions of the state of the working environment, increasing confidence in what was already good. The results also helped to reinforce confidence that everything was largely in order. The results of the survey also supported the company's business objectives, in particular by highlighting the importance of culture. The survey highlighted concrete areas for improvement and has enabled the necessary measures to be taken, mainly related to internal communication on DEI issues.
I also received valuable feedback on how I can further refine my own work and the survey for the future.

Customer service in charge VIBAe Ltd
At the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, I was given an amazing opportunity to join a great company as a customer service responsible for their customer service. I jumped in almost on the fly and was responsible for the entire company's customer service independently. I learned how to use new customer service tools and deepened my Shopify skills. The collaboration will continue in the future.

Working hard..
I have also done a huge amount of unpaid work for my own company, building up my own skills. I have built my own website. I have created a DEI survey. I have designed a pilot version of a model for a functioning and prosperous forest for DEI work, an end-to-end approach to managing DEI work. I have done a huge amount of my own B2B sales and have been in contact with many different companies. I have held free sparring calls with large companies. I have been writing a blog on DEI topics on my own website. I am constantly following and reading new topical information and trends in the field of DEI. I am also networking in the Spanish market and learning more and more about the DEI environment and needs here.
